Indian-born fast bowler Gurinder Sandhu was yesterday called up for the Australia Prime Minister's XI match against the West Indies in Canberra. Nineteen-year-old Sandhu, who is the first Indian-born cricketer to have played for Australia national side (U-19), seems to have pleased the CA selectors. He was picked for the one-day match on Jan 29.
“We have been very pleased with the progress of Indian-born fast bowler Sandhu, who has performed well for the Sydney Thunder following strong performances for Australia in last year’s Under-19 World Cup,” National Selection Panel chairman John Inverarity said yesterday.u00a0
