Chennai Super Kings won the IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings by 28 runs at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. Ravindra Jadeja was the standout performer for CSK. The veteran played a crucial role with the willow and ball to take Chennai home. The match ended with Punjab scoring 139 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Having needed to chase a target of 168 runs in the IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings, no Punjab Kings batsmen were able to score huge runs except opening batsman and impact player Prabhsimran Singh. Facing 23 balls, he scored 30 runs including 2 fours and 2 sixes. In form, Jonny Bairstow and Rilee Rossouw departed in the CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande's over. PBKS' reliable batsman Shashank Singh too departed after scoring 27 runs including 4 fours. Stand-in captain Sam Curran was dismissed by star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for just seven runs. Jitesh Sharma, Ashutosh Sharma and Harshal Patel were not able to score many runs.

Pacer Richard Gleeson went wicketless in the IPL 204 match against Punjab.

Batting first in the match, Jadeja was the highest run-scorer for CSK. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwas was the second-highest run-scorer with 32 runs in 21 deliveries. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and all-rounder Shivam Dube were dismissed for a duck. Punjab Kings' Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel registered three wickets each to their names in the IPL 2024 match against CSK. Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets, followed by captain Sam Curran with one wicket.
