While his teammates made their presence felt at the ICC awards function last night, there was no sign of VVS Laxman, who on Tuesday, guided India to victory in the opening Test against the Australians at Mohali.

A little birdy tells us that Laxman is at home in Hyderabad and has seen a back specialist, who has come from London to check out his injury which may keep him out of Saturday's second Test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
