Afghanistan spinner Zahir Khan has been roped in by the Lancashire cricket club for the ongoing 2018 English county season. The 19-year-old became the fourth Afghanistan cricketer after Rashid Khan (Sussex), Mohammad Nabi (Leicestershire) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Hampshire) also joined this year's county season.

Reflecting on his inclusion in the team, the bowler said that he is excited to join the team and hopes to make a significant contribution to the club. 'I'm really excited to be signing for Lancashire for the rest of the campaign. It's always been an ambition of mine to play county cricket in England and test myself against some of the world's best players.
