MIG CC will play Parsee Gymkhana in the semi-final next weekend

MIG Cricket Club’s left-handers—opener Kevin D’Almeida (100) and pacer Harsh Tanna (5-74)—helped the Bandra East club beat National CC by 98 runs in the last league game of the Police Shield at Cross Maidan on Sunday.

Resuming on the overnight score of 308-6, MIG were dismissed for 335 in 68 overs. D’Almeida’s 101-ball knock was laced with 14 fours and two sixes. No. 6 batsman Anand Bais contributed 82 (6x4, 3x6). National CC’s left-arm spinner Shashikant Kadam and pacer Ravinder Solanki claimed three wickets apiece.
National bowled out for 237
In reply, National CC were bowled out for 237 in 47.1 overs. Chinmay Sutar, who was part of Mumbai’s Oman tour in August-September and former India U-19 wicketkeeper-batsman Vedant Murkar scored 69 and 62 respectively. Tanna, 22, tormented National CC batsmen with his pace and swing while taking his maiden fifer of the tournament. MIG CC will play Parsee Gymkhana in the semi-final next weekend.
Parsee Gym beat SPG
In Group ‘C’, Parsee Gym, who clinched the Padmakar Talim Shield T20 title and the Madhav Mantri Centenary One-Day League recently, defeated Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG) by 130 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. Riding on Nikhil Patil Jr (114), Sachin Yadav (84) and Aditya Tare (60), Parsee Gym posted a mammoth 383-9 in 70 overs.
In reply, SPG’s skipper Ninad Kadam fought hard, scoring 154 (20x4, 2x6) but his effort went in vain as the Dadar outfit were bundled out for 253. Left-arm spinner Yash Dicholkar picked up 3-97. Defending champions Payyade SC, who beat Islam Gymkhana by six wickets on Saturday, will take on Parkophene Cricketers in the other semi-final.
