Lasith Malinga took five wickets to give Sri Lanka a 182-run win against Scotland in the Tri-Nation Tournament here at Grange Cricket Club Ground yesterday.

Inserted to bat, the World Cup runners-up posted 284-7 courtesy fifties from openers Mahela Jayawardene (64) and Dimuth Karunaratne (60), and an unbeaten cameo of 34 runs from Jeevan Mendis. For Scotland, Majid Haq and Preston Mommsen took two wickets apiece.u00a0

Chasing 285, Scotland were bowled out for 102 in 32.4 overs as the trio ofu00a0 Dhammika Prasad (3-18), Thisara Perera (1-20) and Ajantha Mendis (1-24) played a supporting role to Malinga's devastating spell. Only all-rounder Haq managed a score of 34.

On Tuesday, Scotland upset Ireland with a five-wicket win while chasing an improbable 321. The first match between Ireland and Sri Lanka was washed out.
