The Bombay High Court on Tuesday disallowed the Apex Council of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) from continuing as their three-year term has ended.
Hearing an intervening application moved by the MCA to allow the Apex Council to continue till the October 20 elections, the Bombay HC noted that there is no provision in the constitution to allow the elected panel to continue beyond its term.

The court said that joint secretary (Shahalam Shaikh) and treasurer (Jagdish Achrekar) will look into the MCA’s daily affairs with regard to statutory payments and convening meetings including that of selection panels. In case of any dispute, retired Bombay HC justice SJ Kathawalla’s verdict will be final, the court said.
