Mumbai`s senior selection committee is set for a windfall with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) deciding on Friday to nearly double their annual remuneration.  Former India pacer Salil Ankola, the chairman of the senior and U-23 selection panel, will now get R10 lakh while his co-selectors will get Rs 9 lakh. Last season, the senior and U-23 selection committee received Rs 6 (chairman) and Rs 5.5 lakh (co-selectors).

The decision to hike the remuneration of selectors was taken during the Apex Council meeting. “The senior selection committee also have to watch U-23 games. We felt there was too much burden on them and they needed to be compensated accordingly. We have also increased the remuneration for junior selection panels,” an MCA official told mid-day.
