It will now be a league format with a fixed calendar set well in advance. &ldquo;Cricket leagues across the world are getting streamlined and professionalised. We also needed a similar system in place.u00a0 We are not undermining the contributions of earlier formats to Mumbai cricket, but we felt the change was a necessity,&rdquo; Savant said on the sidelines of a meeting with club secretaries and plot holders to discuss and clarify any issues pertaining to the new format. &ldquo;Initially there was resistance, but I did not get deterred. In fact, that made us more determined. We could do this because we were convinced that this is for the betterment of our cricket,&rdquo; added Savant.
