West Indies got off to a poor start in their two-match Test series against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday, October 2 as they were bundled out for just 162 runs in 44.1 overs.
It all began when Tagenarine Chanderpaul (0 runs off 11 balls) got a strangle down the leg side off Mohammed Siraj`s bowling. John Campbell (8 runs off 19 balls) was the next to get dismissed as skipper Shubman Gill took a pretty excellent review to get the batter caught behind. Mohammed Siraj then bowled a beautiful inswinger to clean up Brandon King (13 runs off 15 balls). Alick Athanaze (12 runs off 24 balls) then played a loose drive away from the body and was caught by KL Rahul in the slip cordon off Siraj`s bowling. Kuldeep Yadav capped off a great first session for India with the wicket of Shai Hope (26 runs off 36 balls) through a brilliant piece of bowling.
