India's limited-overs batsman Suryakumar Yadav is set to join the Mumbai team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Yadav will travel to Kerala to join the team today, but won’t make it in time for the start of Mumbai’s opening match against Tamil Nadu at the St Xavier’s KCA ground in Thiruvananthapuram.

It is understood that Yadav has been exempted from the three-day quarantine rule since he was already in the Indian team’s bio-bubble for the New Zealand series. He was called to join the Indian Test team in Kanpur for the first Test after the conclusion of the third T20I against NZ in Kolkata.
Yadav will most likely be available for Mumbai’s second game, against Baroda on Thursday. His presence will be a huge boost for the Shams Mulani-led defending champions, who are without the services of Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, as they will soon be travelling to South Africa for the Test and ODI series, and Prithvi Shaw, who is already in SA for the India ‘A’ tour.
