The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/that-decision-lies-with-agarkar-jay-shah-opens-up-on-iyer-kishans-snub-23348559" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">BCCI</a> is set to make key changes to domestic cricket starting from the 2024-25 season.&nbsp;
The toss will be done away in the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy. According to what is being proposed, instead of the toss, the visiting team will have the right to choose between bat and ball.
A four-member group comprising India&rsquo;s head coach <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/t20-world-cup-2024-a-few-interviews-have-already-happened-jay-shah-sends-message-as-rahul-dravid-tenure-nears-end-23348524" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rahul Dravid</a>, NCA chief VVS Laxman, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and former India pacer Abey Kuruvilla, who is the BCCI General Manager, met recently and finalised proposals that were submitted to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

&ldquo;The recommendations of the working group will be implemented in domestic cricket, subject to approval by the Apex Council,&rdquo; said Shah.
The Ranji Trophy will start in October with the first five league matches. It will be followed by the T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy after which the remaining two league and knockout matches of the Ranji Trophy (between January and March) will be conducted.
Another key change will be the discontinuation of the Duleep Trophy being played on a zonal basis. Instead, the tournament will feature four teams selected by the national selectors.
