Number four batter Pradnya Bhalerao’s composed knock of 96 runs helped Navi Mumbai Sports Association (NMSA), Vashi Centre beat Sassanian Sports Club, Azad Maidan Centre to emerge champions of the 27th Ajit Naik Memorial U-14 MCA selection trials tournament in Worli on Wednesday.

The Vashi side won on the basis of a first innings lead on Day Two of the two-day final. Pradnya’s innings was laced with 11 fours. In response to Sassanian’s first innings total of 235 all out, NMSA, who resumed at their overnight score of 10 for no loss, finished their first innings at 252 all out and snatch a crucial 17-run lead.
