Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is earning a huge amount of praises from his teammates and former cricketers alike. R Ashwin, who is the fourth-highest wicket taker for India in Tests, also joined the elite 400-wicket club during the ongoing test series between India and England. In the 77 Tests played so far, Ashwin has bagged 401 wickets at an average of 24.95 and an economy rate of 2.82. His best figures in an innings are 7/59.
Speaking exclusively on Star Sports` show Cricket Connected, former Team India batsman Aakash Chopra lavished praise on R Ashwin and highlighted his performance during the series, "78 Test matches for 400 Test wicket. Let the naysayers be! He’s been absolutely phenomenal with the craft that he has displayed over a period of time and as he’s growing as a bowler he’s picking a lot of wickets. So, that question mark is also getting answered quite nicely. I feel that he’s an absolute Rockstar. He’s one of the biggest match-winner, that India has ever produced, of course, Anil Kumble will still remain at No.1."
