Team India skipper Shubman Gill was announced as the 'Player of the Month' for July 2025. In the concluded five-match Test series against England, the right-hander had smashed 754 runs.

During the series, he smashed a double century against in Birmingham and Gill said that he will cherish that double ton forever, as it came in his first Test series as a captain.

"It feels great to be named the ICC Player of the Month for July. This time it holds a lot more significance since it has come for my performances during my first Test series as captain. The double ton in Birmingham is obviously something I will cherish forever and will be one of the highlights of my tour to England," Gill was quoted by the ICC.
