Don Bosco (Matunga) off-spinner Dev Nafade claimed 5-52 while left-arm spinner Shaurya Rane bagged 3-43 to help bowl out Modern English School for 198 on Day One of the U-14 Giles Shield inter-school semi-finals at Police Gymkhana, Marine Drive, on Tuesday. The tournament is its 123rd year.


Aaradhya Chavan (76) and Rishabh Sadake (60) were the principal scorers for Modern English School. Don Bosco were 12-1 in 12 overs at stumps.

In the other semi-final at MCA’s BKC ground, Oxford Public School amassed 306-6 in the stipulated 80 overs against Al Barkaat MMI English School.

Neel Patil (69 off 121 balls), Arhan Patel (64 off 164 balls) and Shahid Khan (58 not out off 61 balls) were the principal scorers for Oxford. Arham Jain scored 39.
In reply, Al Barkaat were eight for one wicket in five overs at the end of the opening day.
