Riding on off-spinner Vihaan Malhotra’s 4-14, India beat Bangladesh by 18 runs (DLS method) in the U-19 World Cup match here on Saturday. Set a revised target of 165 in 29 overs after play was halted due to rain, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 146 in 28.3 overs. Skipper Azizul Hakim top-scored for Bangladesh with 51. It was India’s second consecutive victory in the tournament.
Earlier, Abhigyan Kundu and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi struck fighting half-centuries, but pacer Al Fahad’s splendid five-wicket haul helped Bangladesh bowl out India for 238.
