Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night announcement scrapping the old Rs 500, Rs 1,000 notes after midnight saw a mad rush by citizens for bank ATMs to deposit currencies of these denominations in Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) and withdrawing notes of lower denomination. But it also saw several people throng the social media platforms to showcase their wit.
