Former India dasher Virender Sehwag was mighty impressed by Ishan Kishan’s 56, which contributed in a big way to India’s seven-wicket T20I win over England at Motera on Sunday.

“A star is born. I can’t say whether he will be a big or small star. But to me, Ishan became a star from the time he scored 56 off 32 deliveries,” said Sehwag who is part of the Road Safety series in Raipur.
Sehwag added: “He never looked nervous or overawed by the atmosphere. He was calm, composed and fluent. Even in the presence of skipper Virat Kohli, he played his normal game. He has plenty of strokes all around the wicket and was comfortable on the front and back foot. He attacked the bowlers by going out of the crease. Such was his confidence. He must have worked very hard before making his debut on Sunday.
“His future looks bright. Mind you, we are discussing him only after his first match for India. If he continues to play this way, he may find a place in the T20 World Cup.”
