Young Ayush Mhatre, however, launched a counter-attack with a brisk 30 off 19 balls, smashing boundaries against Shami, Cummins, and Unadkat. His aggressive approach gave CSK early momentum, but the innings faltered after his dismissal

Patel found excellent support from captain Pat Cummins (2/21), experienced campaigners Mohammed Shami (1/28) and Jaydev Unadkat (2/21), and all-rounder Kamindu Mendis (1/26), who also contributed with a sensational catch later in the game

Sam Curran was next to fall, mistiming a slower delivery from Harshal Patel straight to Aniket Verma at deep midwicket. Mhatre, who had looked threatening, perished soon after, caught by Ishan Kishan off Cummins, reducing CSK to 50 for 3 at the end of the powerplay

With both teams in desperate need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, SRH executed their bowling plans with precision on a tricky surface. Pacer Harshal Patel led the attack with a brilliant spell, finishing with figures of 4/28, cleverly mixing his pace to deceive the batters. 

Shivam Dube and Dewald Brevis attempted to resurrect the innings. Dube struck two classy boundaries off Shami, while Brevis unleashed an array of powerful strokes, launching Mendis for three sixes in an over and hammering another big one off Harshal.
