Gavaskar scored 774 runs against West Indies in a test series played in 1970/71. The veteran also scored 732 runs against the same team in the test series played in 1978/79
Virat Kohli is the second player on the list. He has 692 runs to his name against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played in the year 2014/15. The veteran also scored 655 runs against England in the 2016/17 test series
The third spot is in the name of Dilip Sardesai. The right-hander scored 642 runs against West Indies in the 1970/71 test series
Rahul Dravid is the fourth player. He amassed 619 runs against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2003/04
