Manchester United’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick has the utmost respect for Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and has no hesitation in admitting it. 

On the eve of tonight’s Champions League Last-16 tie in Spain, Rangnick was all praise for Simeone. “In 11 years with Atletico, he [Simeone] has changed that club completely into one of the most respected clubs in Europe. He [Simeone] has won trophies with a clear identity and with a recognisable playing style. And I don’t think this has changed in the recent years,” Rangnick said at the pre-match press conference, referring to Simeone’s success at Atletico whom he has led to two La Liga titles, two Europa Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, the Spanish Cup and Spanish Super Cup.
