London: Queen's Park Rangers have appointed former Leeds and Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as their new manager, the club confirmed on Friday. Hasselbaink had an impressive start to his managerial career in England, leading Burton to the League Two title last season in his own first year and leaving them challenging for back-to-back promotions.
The Dutchman, 43, takes over a Rangers side lying 11th in the Championship, England's second tier, following last season's relegation. "It was not an easy decision to leave Burton, but when you get the opportunity to come somewhere like QPR, with the club where it is and the squad we have at our disposal, it was something I couldn't turn down," Hasselbaink said.
