Ex-Mumbai footballer Anslem Alphonso passes away at 65 in Andheri

Former Mumbai football player, coach and MSSA administrator Anslem Alphonso, 65, breathed his last following a cardiac arrest at his residence in Andheri on Monday. Alphonso is survived by his two daughters, Alysha and Astrid, and son, Aaron.


Alphonso, a product of St Mary’s SSC, Mazgaon, represented Maharashtra at the 1974 National Schools Games in Agra. The funeral will be held at 4.30pm today at Sacred Heart Church, Andheri (E).
