London: Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has joined striker Wayne Rooney in backing player-coach Ryan Giggs to be the next permanent manager of the Old Trafford side.

Rooney spoke in favour of Giggs, who took temporary charge following the sacking of Moyes, following their 4-0 win over Norwich City, but Louis van Gaal remains favourite to succeed David Moyes.
