AVM (Juhu) crowned champions

Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) claimed their second Mid-Day's Ranis of Rink title in a row after defeating Rustomjee Cambridge (Dahisar) in the final at Bandra's Neville D’Souza Turf on Friday.

Thanks to the strategic understanding of sharpshooter Radhika Vyas, who, having scored both goals, put the game beyond her opponents to register a comfortable 2-0 win in the summit clash of Ranis of Rink 2024.

"It feels amazing to be the lone goal scorer in the final. I said it the last time too, and I'm again saying this today, it is all because of my team and coach. This is our second title, so we want to win the next time as well," said Vyas.

"It feels great to be winning for the second consecutive time. We are looking forward to emulating this feat next year as well...with the same team. Radhika is a very good player, she is able to hold the ball, passes well with good accuracy, and at times she tries to finish the game on a winning note. She can be really a good asset for our team in the future," AVM (Juhu) coach Desmond D'souza told Mid-Day, minutes after his team were crowned champions.

Notably, the tournament's second edition witnessed the same AVM (Juhu) team showcasing remarkable grit and determination and finding their flow against a forceful Dhirubhai Ambani side 3-2 to be crowned the champions. In the maiden season of the tournament, it was Mary Immaculate Girls MIG who surpassed all expectations and raised the bar for themselves by clinching the elusive title. Angeline Antony, whose tally of 12 goals, became the turning point of the match that saw Apostolic Carmel Bandra capitulated to a humiliating defeat.
