India football captain Sunil Chhetri’s decision to marry Sonam Bhattacherjee is the best decision he has ever taken.

To wish Sonam, who turned a year older on Monday,  he wrote on Instagram: “They say, the choices you make shape the rest of your life, so choose well. I chose football very early in life, and it gave me joy and happiness beyond measure. And yet, it remains the second best choice I’ve made. Sonam, my love, you light up my life in ways I never thought would be possible. I’m going to credit myself here when I say you’ve been my best decision ever.”

The couple got married in 2017 and Chhetri is still crazy about her.

“In the one life we get to live, I couldn’t be more grateful that you chose to spend it with me. All these years later, I’m still crazy about you, and will keep giving you reasons to feel happy, loved, proud and safe. I’m also making a promise today, that we’ll see the world together. Happy Birthday, beautiful,” he remarked.
