Striker Vishrut Ruhal was over the moon after scoring the lone goal which paved the way for Thakur Public School (Kandivli) to register a 1-0 win against Balmohan English (Dadar) in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised boys' U-16 Div III inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.
Vishrut, 15, latched on to Vignesh Thakkur's long forward pass and advanced deep into the rival territory before beating Balmohan goalkeeper Rudraksha Ghanekar with a perfect placement in the 23rd minute."This is my first goal in MSSA football tournaments. I have been playing for the school from the under-14 age group but had never scored before. I'm relieved as this is some achievement for me and I'm happier because the goal helped my team win. I hope I can now keep scoring to ensure the success of our team," Vishrut a Gareth Bale fan, told mid-day after the game.
