World No 7 Berdych had been routed by Stan Wawrinka in his opening match at London's O2 Arena, but he bounced back in style and could qualify for the Last Four with a victory over defending champion Novak Djokovic in his final Group A tie tomorrow.
Cilic's second defeat at the season-ending event means the Croatian has no chance of qualifying after winning just six games in his two matches.
Murray victorious
Meanwhile, Andy Murray kept alive his bid to reach the semi-finals of the ATP Tour Finals with a crucial 6-3, 7-5 victory in his shoot-out with Milos Raonic on Tuesday night.
Murray now has to beat six-time winner Roger Federer in his final group match today to qualify, while Raonic, having lost both matches, is almost certain to be knocked out.
