The 28-year-old Bengaluru based golfer, who came to visit his maternal grandparents for the first time after his tied fifth finish at the PGA Championship in the US, found his golf kit missing as it landed in Bagdogra instead of being offloaded in Kolkata.
Lahiri, who's leaving for New Delhi for a felicitation ceremony before heading to the US for his next tournament, took an IndiGo flight that lands in Kolkata at 1.05 pm before taking off for the final destination, Bagdogra, near Siliguri.
"By mistake, his golf kit was not offloaded by the airline staff in Kolkata so it went to Bagdogra. It took sometime for him to get back his golf kit," a Royal Calcutta Golf Course official told PTI.
Lahiri, who was accompanied by his wife Ipsa Jamwal, however was happy to meet his maternal grandparents.
Lahiri, whose ranking climbed to world no 38, has meanwhile confirmed to compete in the upcoming Year Ending Tour Championship at RCGC in December.
Lahiri had won the 2013 Tour Championship on his last visit in Kolkata.
