Hamilton won from pole to finish beating teammate Rosberg, while Lotus’ Romain Grosjean finished third, after Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel suffered a rear tyre failure with two laps to go.
Defending two-time world champion Hamilton, who leads this year’s title race by 28 points after his sixth win this year, oozed with confidence, saying: “I love my job. It’s the greatest job in the world. I’m halfway through my career and I’m not hanging my helmet.”
Tyre trouble for Seb
However, Vettel faced possible post-race trouble with the stewards after he raged about Pirelli’s ‘unacceptable’ tyres and refused to be weighed at the end of the race. “Things like that are not allowed to happen. What’s upsetting is the result. We deserved to finish on the podium. It keeps coming around but nobody is mentioning it,” said Vettel.
Force India on a high
Sergio Perez gave Force India a season-best fifth place finish here yesterday. Perez, who started on the second row for the first time this season, had to do a lot of work to finish a place lower than his grid position in the eventful 43-lap race. Perez’s teammate Nico Hulkenberg could not start the race from 11th on the grid due to loss of power. — Agencies
