Good news for the bodybuilding freaks. The Ministry of Youth Affairs has granted the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF) official status. Chetam Pathare, General Secretary of IBBF announced this at a media conference at the Press Club in Mumbai yesterday.
“The various factions in body building were of no help to the athletes. So we decided to forget our past mistakes and unite for a larger cause,” Pathare said.

This will ensure body builders across the country, who perform well at national and international meets, can now expect a lot of benefits from the government, including grants and jobs.
The associations that have merged with the parent body are 30 state bodies besides Indian Railways, Indian Revenue Sports Promotion Board, ONGC, CRPF, CISF and All-India Ordnance Sports Board. Pradeep Madhok will be the president of IBBF.u00a0
