The 23-year-old Krishan dominated the bout right from the outset regularly peppering the Iraqi boxer with some sharp combinations and picking up points en route.

“It was an easy fight. I thought it would be a challenge for me considering his record,  but once I had landed a couple of clear punches in the opening minute, I was relaxed and knew where I wanted to take this bout,” said Krishan immediately after his win.

Vikas will take on Uzbekistan’s Bektemir Melikuziev in the final. Melikuziev (19) is a former World Jr Boxing Champion.  “He is very talented and it will be a challenge to fight him but I’m confident of  my ability,” said Krishan.
