Olympic champion Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland won the race-opening prologue of the Tour de France here on Saturday to claim the first race leader's yellow jersey of the 99th edition.
RadioShack rider Cancellara, who clocked a winning time of 7 mins, 13.46secs for the 6.4 km course, thus repeated his feat of 2004 on an almost identical course in the centre of Liege.

USADA file formal charges
The US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced on Friday it has filed formal doping charges against Lance Armstrong that, if proven, would strip him of his seven Tour de France titles. A three-member review panel evaluated evidence gathered by USADA and a reply from Armstrong before unanimously voting to turn the allegations revealed on June 13 into formal charges.u00a0
