Heart-throbs of the 1980s Duran Duran have been invited to perform at a concert at Hyde Park, the Games organisers said yesterday.
The band which boasts of hits including Rio and The Reflex among others will represent England at the July 27 concert in London’s Hyde Park, which features acts from each of the four parts of the United Kingdom.
The other performers at the event will be Snow Patrol (N Ireland), Stereophonics (Wales) and Scotland’s Paolo Nutini. The Games’ opening ceremony, taking place across town at the Olympic Stadium, will be broadcast on giant screens here.
