Federer, who can become the recordholder in terms of World Tour Finals should he win his sixth on Sunday, will play either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Tomas Berdych.

Earlier, India's Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi entered the semi-finals, defeating top seeds the Bryan twins, Bob and Mike, 6-4, 6-2. The Indians will face Poland's Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in the semis.
