Manager Fabio Capello was able to confirm that the player was returning to his club for treatment on the groin injury.

"He didn't finish training because the pain was the same as yesterday so he is going back to Liverpool," Capello told reporters at a press conference yesterday. Wayne Rooney is already out of the game with a calf problem.
