Monza: Two weeks after their collision at the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were on speaking terms again yesterday, putting on a united front for Mercedes after the team's seventh one-two triumph of the year in the Italian GP.

Hamilton, aggressive and flawless, drove with great speed and daring to turn a poor start, when he dropped to fourth from pole position, into the 28th win of his career to trim the German's lead (see box).

Nigel Mansell, with 31 wins, is the only Briton to have accumulated more. Rosberg, who buckled under pressure and locked up twice at the first chicane while leading, ended 3.1 seconds adrift second.

Hamilton's father Anthony and step mother Linda were with him and he credited them for the win. "I got here with my family. They don't come to many races, but I wanted them here. They bring me luck. Maybe I need to be flying them out for every race," he said.

6 points for Force India
Meanwhile, Force India's Sergio Perez finished an impressive 7th and won six points for his effort. Teammate Niko Hulkenberg though finished 12th.
