Former World Champion Valentino Rossi admitted after the Portuguese MotoGP yesterday that he just could not keep up with his Yamaha teammate and newly-crowned world champ Jorge Lorenzo.
Spaniard Lorenzo won his third consecutive MotoGP race yesterday with Rossi finishing second and Honda rider Andrea Doviziozo grabbing third on the line.
Rossi said: "On the dry surface I lacked some speed and I couldn't keep up with Jorge."
Lorenzo said: "Valentino overtook me and got away from me for a while, but I stayed calm and began reeling him in bit by bit."
