"I want to tell my fans I'm not finished, I will come back. My country comes first, more than my family and more than myself," he said after asking the Pakistan Cricket Board to allow him to skip the three-match Test series against NZ. Pakistan is scheduled to leave for NZ on Sunday withu00a0 the first Test beginning in Dunedin on November 25.
Pakistan surprisingly lost 1-2 in the recent ODI series against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi and sources said Younis was unhappy with the lack of support from his teammates and that prompted him to step down. But Younis rejected the reports. "I have taken this decision after giving it a serious thought, since I am not in the best of form, I need rest. I must also clarify that I don't hold any grudges against anybody," he said.
