Carlos Tevez admitted criticism directed at Argentina's players led him to consider quitting.
Argentina qualified for the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Uruguay, prompting coach Diego Maradona to get back at critics with some unpleasant words in his post-match briefing, for which FIFA could hand him a five-match ban.
Tevez said: "When I play for Argentina I spend more time suffering. The fans insulted us, journalists criticised us. Sometimes I think about quitting the national team."
