Sixth seed Malaysian Elvin Keo survived a scare at the hands of Delhi's Ashray Ohri, before his superior fitness saw him win the decider 12-10 to make the last eight.
Among the women, Malaysian second seed Siti Munirah Jusoh recorded an easy 11-7, 11-7 win over Shria Khatri to make the last eight. She next meets former national champion Deepali Parikh, who beat Anita Balagopalan 11-1,11-1. Also advancing into the quarters, was South African Siyoli Waters, who beat Sarita Jethwani 11-1, 11-1.
