On Wednesday, in the 800m run, the 14-year-old had finished first clocking 2:34.6 seconds. Pearlin came second with a timing of 2:44.8 seconds, while Sanaa Gore Datar took 2:56.4 seconds to cover the distance. In the 200m, Isabelle won a bronze clocking 28.6 seconds. Maria (27.7 seconds) won the gold while Ankita Bhuvad (28.1 seconds) settled for the silver medal.
Isabelle said that her performance in the MSSA’s Athletic Championships has been satisfying. “This is my first year in the U-16 category and I am glad that I won three gold medals. It’s also the best Christmas gift that I could have given my dad (Dennis), who was my first coach and taught me till I was 12. But since he is in Merchant Navy, he doesn’t get to spend a lot of time with me.
My performance improved drastically after I started training under Ravi (Bagdi) sir two years ago,” said the Bandra resident.u00a0Isabelle has performed consistently in other athletic events too. At the recently concluded inter-school meet by Prabodhan Goregaon, she won gold medals in the 800m, 400m and 200m events. At the District Sports Office Divisional athletic meet held at Priyadarshini Park, she won a gold medal in the 800m run.u00a0
