Indian FC put up a dogged display and managed to overcome defending champions Kalina Village Boys (Red) by a solitary 1-0 margin in the final to lift the men's open crown, in the 16th Kalina Football League (KFL), organised by the Our Lady of Egypt Parish Church Sports Committee held at the Our Lady of Egypt Church ground, Kalina.
In a lively and entertaining title clash, Indian FC and Village Boys were engaged in a keen tussle for supremacy and the with neither team being able to find the net in the initial period the first half finished goalless. However, in the second period Indian FC striker Kalpesh Rane scored the crucial goal, which helped his team to secure the win and emerge victorious.
Meanwhile, in the finals of the men's Veteran Inter-Parish (knockout) tournament, Our Lady of Health, Sahar scored a comfortable 3-0 win against St. Joseph's, Juhu to emerge champions. Striker Anthony Fernandes scored two goals and Vilas Dandekar got one to complete the win for the Versova outfit.
