India's Sania Mirza saw her singles campaign at the Miami Masters come to an abrupt end when she went down to Russian Maria Kirilenko 7-5, 3-6, 0-6 on Saturday.
Sania, who had beaten Kirilenko in both their previous meetings, looked in control of the match when some hard ground strokes saw her clinch the first set. However, the Russian came back strongly to take the second and third sets and with it the second round encounter, sending the Indian crashing out. The 27th ranked Russian broke the 99th ranked Indian midway in the second set, andu00a0 never looked back thereafter. Sania's serve was once again a let down as she failed to make the best of the couple of break opportunities she got.
