St Rock's High School stood like a rock, quite literally as the Andheri side were able to thwart waves of attack by Thakur Public School (Kandivli) in a drawn 0-0 game during the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised inter school under -16 Division III football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Among the stars that stood for St Rock's was Himanshu Shukla. At just 4 feet, 5 inches, the wily striker, 11, was able to dodge his hefty opponents during the match. Although his efforts didn't yield any result, Himanshu, who lives in Andheri along with his three sisters, brother and parents, was happy that he could give his best for the team.

"Winning and losing is part of the game, but what is more important is that I got an opportunity to play for my side in the second half and I wanted to do well for the school," Himanshu told mid-day yesterday.

Studying in Class V and facing other senior opponents doesn't bother Himanshu too much. In fact, being the shortest player in the side, he is not treated like a kid. "Everyone is equal in the team. Nobody is big or small. Thankfully, I am not scared of any one. If that happened then I would never be able to play the sport," Himanshu said. His dream is to play for India one day.
