To ensure a fair verdict in the U-16 Harris Shield tournament overage issue raised by Swami Vivekanand International (Borivli) and Rizvi Springfield, the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) yesterday conducted bone tests on the 10 accused (two from Rizvi and eight from SVIS) at JJ Hospital in Byculla.

"Since both teams are pointing fingers at each other, we decided to get bone tests done of all 10 players in question. After we get the reports (possibly on Thursday), we will discuss further course of action," MSSA President Fr Jude Rodrigues told mid-day.

A x-ray of the players' shoulder bones, part of the pelvic bone and head were done as part of the test. The tests started at 9 am and finished around 3pm, informed Fr Rodrigues.

A recent Harris Shield Elite Division knockout match was played under protest after SVIS claimed that two Rizvi players, who were declared overage by the Mumbai Cricket Association, were still part of the team. Rizvi, who won the match by four wickets to enter the semis, in return lodged a protest against their opponents, accusing them of fielding eight overage players.
