Fresh from his title winning run in Malaysia last week, Indian squash player Harinder Pal Sandhu marched into the semifinals at the Makati Open, a PSA world tour event, here yesterday.
Sandhu defeated seventh seed Tsun Hei Yuen of Hong Kong 11-9, 11-4, 11-4. Seeded two, Harinder had earlier begun in his characteristic fighting mood by downing compatriot and qualifier Vijaykumar 15-13, 11-9, 11-8 in the first round late on Thursday.
For the two other first round winners, Abhay Singh and Akanksha Salunkhe, both qualifiers, it was curtains in the quarterfinals.
