Round 1
A taste of things to come. Mayweather countered Pacquiao well with his solid defence. A straight right from Mayweather got through Pacquiao’s defences. The Filipino did not land a telling glove.

Round 2
Pacquiao had Mayweather pinned in the corner but failed to land any telling blows. Pacquiao continued to attack, but Mayweather was too quick and looked extremely comfortable.
Round 3
Mayweather was cautioned by the referee for a low blow while Pacquiao continued to throw a flurry of punches without landing. Mayweather’s defence was as strong as ever.
Round 4
Pacquiao landed a decent right to Mayweather’s head then followed it up with a left which rocked his opponent in what was his most successful passage of the fight to date.
Round 5
Two solid rights from Mayweather got through Pacquiao’s defences which drew a smile from the latter as the 38-year-old assumed control of the bout again.
Round 6
Pacquiao upped the tempo to unsettle his rival slightly before a right uppercut caught Pacquiao. Pacquiao threw body shots but Mayweather shook his head, gesturing the shots did not hurt him.
Round 7
Right hand lead forced Mayweather back, and the American did not offer too much in the seventh. A left from Pacquiao opened a cut on Mayweather’s lip as blood rushed out.
Round 8
Two left-hand shots, the second a powerful uppercut got through Mayweather’s defence. However, he fought back with two left hands and a right jab later which seemed to hurt Pacquiao.
Round 9
The Filipino was still struggling to build momentum and throw successive shots, with the American’s speed and ring intelligence not allowing him to get close.
Round 10
Pacquiao continued to come forward and a few shots did get through. He started to throw clusters of punches, but a shake of the head from him at the end of the round showed his frustration.
Round 11
There was less movement from Pacquiao and he looked like a man tiring and running out of ideas. Mayweather countered beautifully and once again used the ring to his advantage.
Round 12
Mayweather looked comfortable and Pacquiao was out of ideas. He struggled to throw his trademark flurry of punches -- but again his defence was exemplary.
