Argentina coach Diego Maradona has declared that Barcelona midfielder Xavi has dominated every game he has seen the Spaniard play and insisted that he has no doubts about the ability of Xavi's Blaugrana team-mate Lionel Messi.
"Every time I see Xavi play he lays down the law on the football field, for sure," Maradona told a press conference.
"Messi is the best in the world. He has so many responsibilities. He must be the leader of the team and he knows it. He looks good to me and has the desire."
Speaking ahead of the Albicelestes friendly match with Spain, Maradona also said that La Furia Roja were favourites to beat his side, but said that being the top contender to win the 2010 World Cup isn't necessarily a good thing as the tournament favourites rarely capture the crown.
"Spain have overcome the tag of not having won anything and are now well armed but the World Cup favourites rarely win it."
